"Dreams of Our Ancestors"
From the time we began to become human, we have been making art. It might even have been the impulse to make art that pushed us over that nebulous threshold into the beginnings of our humanity. Somewhere a troupe of Adams and Eves, as they migrated with the herds across the savannahs of Africa, began to draw their world and their human souls were born within their minds. We became another kind of animal - a consciously dreaming, imagining, animal. The worlds of our minds began to become the habitat of our conscious living.
