"The Eye With Which I See"
"The eye with which I see God is the same with which God sees me. My eye and God's eye is one eye, and one sight, and one knowledge, and one love." Meister Eckhart. Sermon IV.
We are each looking out on our worlds with the eyes of our minds, seeing what we think is the reality of life. Then our reality runs into the reality of others and it becomes a contest for the "truth".
The eye with which we "see" is the "I" with which we see. And when the "I" changes, so does the "eye", and also what is seen.
When the "I" is transformed, when it washes away in the awareness of the "I" of spirit, the eye of the I disappears into the light of seeing God.
