"Mother and baby Kent"
One of many woodcuts I created of my family, this was done from one of my favorite photos of my mother in her 30s. But as I worked on the two figures they began to look like every beautiful mother looking lovingly at her child.The use of the woodcut medium emphasizes the shapes of these two figures. The roughness created by the woodcutting process contrasts with the softness of the fabrics, the faces, the expressions.
